Circa 1900 Faust mini mug. Measures approx 2 1/4" tall. Has a match striker on the bottom for lighting your cigar! I did not observe any major damage such as cracks or chips, but naturally the item shows wear and patina from being over 100 years old. There is crazing to the finish, which is hard to observe with the naked eye. The black Faust script is somewhat light, not sure if this was factory or fading over the years. This was likely a souvenir given to patrons to hold their matches, but that is simply conjecture. Tony Faust operated a large, upscale restaurant in St Louis, Mo. and was close friends with Adolphus Busch, who brewed a beer bearing Faust's name and the devil character. The restaurant closed in 1916.
