Up for sale is a Antique Bar JOCKEY BOX Beer Cooler Kegerator w/ Keg Tap, & Drip Pan w/ Drain. This is some kind of awesome piece. Maybe the coolest I have ever sold!! I BET YOUR LOUDMOUTH NEIGHBOR WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT BEER DOESN'T HAVE ONE OF THESE!! :-)
I don't know much about it, but here is my best shot. If you have more/better/different info feel free to share. This is a metal cooler box with galvanized interior. It has a wrap of coils that goes down inside the box. You fill the box with ice/water and this super cools the coils. Then attach a beer keg onto the tap, pump the bicycle tire type pump on the side of the box which pressurizes the keg and forces the beer up through the chilled coils and out comes a little taste of awesomeness!!
The condition of the box itself is fantastic. Lid is attached solidly. Coils seem to be intact. Nothing has been tested for leaks. The handle for the pressure pump may possibly be bakelite...not sure. The hoses are in bad condition, but could be easily replaced. All of the hardware seems intact and functional. I would expect some issues with rubber washers/gaskets and the like if you are planning to bring this back to life. It is not flashy as it is painted solid black, but I assume you did not make things flashy if you were trying to be undercover. It also has a little thumb twist valve to drain the water from the cooler area right into the drain pan. The drain pan has a drain hole in the middle that could be hooked up to a hose and have the discharge piped out to a drain (I do not believe this is shown in the pics). The "shelf" is included inside the drip pan so that the beer glasses would stand up out of the drain water a little bit. I do not believe this could be connected to modern kegs using the tap that is attached, so this may be as much of a display item as anything unless you do some alteration to it.
Markings on the tap show as follows...." Peerless Beer Tap AM Tap Bush Co Detroit Mich Pat 1329141". Research shows this to have been patented in 1920.
Take a look and see the pics for yourself. I have described this as best I can with my limited knowledge of the item. I will say that these must be rare at this age as I could not hardly find any comparable items anywhere. So it was hard to date this item. The pics take precedence over my description.
