Description:
A beautiful good very fine banknote from Greece. This is the 25 Drachmai dated 26 September 1915 and issued by the Bank of Crete. This date represents the last issue date of the type which was issued in the period 1909-1915. This banknote is black on orange and light green underprint. It depicts the Greek arms upper center of the front with the image of King George at thew upper right and sitting deity in a circle to the left. The front is written in Greek letters and has a stamped date. The back of the note is green and has a geometric design with the name of the bank and the denomination written in French in a circular fashion in the center. The front of the note shows three signatures and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 290,508 and it is series A001. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. It is printed on thick and stiff paper. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine with all the details being very well preserved. The note has several vertical folds and a horizontal fold. The note is lightly soiled and has several small and light stains. It has no tears, no splits, no pinholes, and no graffiti. Its edges show light roughness with a few nicks at the ends of the folds. The note's corners are intact with some rounding and a few bumps. and short creases. It retains some of its original stiffness and it is printed on heavy thick paper. It colors are a bit muted but are still well defined. A very fine example of this rare note to add to your collection. Please see scan for additional condition information.
